Cole Murphy Harris is an experienced, Knoxville, TN-based CPA who serves as an Internal Accountant for Harris Restaurant Group. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Cole holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, as well as his Master of Accountancy in Taxation.
Prior to stepping into his current role at Harris Restaurant Group, Cole served as a Tax Associate at Burkhart & Company, P.C., through which he would prepare clients’ tax returns, manage their year-end financial adjustments, prepare time series analyses, and maintain work papers in support of tax returns. This vital experience enabled Cole to apply the principles he had learned throughout his academic career to real situations, and aided him in becoming fluent in the language of business.
For Cole Murphy Harris, maintaining a solid work-life balance is of the utmost importance, as having outside hobbies and passion projects helps keep him sharp and engaged in his career. As such, Cole can often be found expressing himself through music. However, when he is not singing or playing one of the multiple instruments he has mastered, Cole enjoys traveling the globe. In his experience, travel is integral to the human experience, as it opens our eyes to the world around us and breaks us out of the protection of our comfort zones.
Although he frequently travels domestically to Vail, Colorado, where he enjoys skiing and spending time in the great outdoors, Cole Murphy Harris’ most formative experiences have come through international travel. Growing up, he was abundantly blessed to be able to travel across the country and visit 22 states, explore Europe with his siblings, and spend two weeks in Poland as a part of acquiring his Master’s degree.
Now, Cole makes it a point to plan regular trips to other countries. Through his travels, Cole has visited France, Hungary, Austria, Honduras, the Bahamas, Switzerland, Italy, Jamaica, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, and the cities of Amsterdam, London, Belize, Cozumel, and Costa Maya. By taking the time to immerse himself in other cultures, experience new cuisines, and expose himself to alternative lifestyles, Cole Murphy Harris feels as though he has become a more well-rounded individual. After all, the stories of the world bear more valuable lessons than many would believe, and he is grateful to have the privilege of experiencing them firsthand.
